I have started modelling the in-game mesh, and it seems that getting edge flow correct is harder than i thought. Although correcting it isn't too boring. As you can see below i have a lot of flow problems already and there are some signs of where I've tried to correct it, for example the crotch area. I'm also finding it hard to get the edge flow of the boots right, as its looking nothing like the concept or reference, more work is needed there. Perhaps it will become less chunky when i have added the gap between the ball of the foot and the heel.
I will post more when i have made progress on the edge-flow problems.
